We"re nearing the end of Ekle's days and many of her friends want to acknowledge her life in their own way.
R, a friend of our daughter has never had a dog but has grown very close to our German Shepherd, Elke. She is a barista at Starbucks and she made this special puppuchino for her.
She's a talented artist, don't you think?

Granny Annie: By that measure, Elke is a good dog.
Jan: Our previous German Shepherd, Dax, licked our Mayor's face. Friends in high places, indeed. Elke never achieved that but she is known all over the neighborhood and by many friends of our girls who can't have dogs so they adopt Elke as their dog. She is very friendly and lots of people's hearts are breaking over her decline, especially ours.
