*Sigh*

By now I'm sure you've all heard that the New York city commission voted 9-0 to deny landmark status to a building near the World Trade Center site, freeing a group to convert the property into an Islamic community center AND MOSQUE.

Moslems Know The Symbolism Of The Ground Zero Mosque

I heard a funny suggestion... throw bacon at the site every chance you get. Yeah, it might drive up the cost of construction, but it won't halt the building.

There is plenty of money behind the building of this mosque and plenty of useful fools available in this country to help them do it.

Never has a president, elected on a promise of "change" and with such enthusiasm on the part of the electorate, done so little.
Let's review:
1. Health reform. Yeah, gotta love the title, but reform? Not so much. And it goes into effect when? Like 2013? Stay healthy!
2. Ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe later. Not now.
3. Closing Gitmo and ending extraordinary rendition. Um, no.
4. Ending "too big to fail" on Wall Street. Hahahahaha. C'mon, you believed that?
5. Response to the Gulf oil spill. Are we going to use this tragedy to get Americans on board with a Manhattan Project-type response to ending our oil addiction? Oh, look! Ponies!
People really were sick of the direction this country was on in 2008 and looking for someone who would turn the ship of state. They thought of Hillary as part of the Old Guard and voted for Barry instead. (Including me.)
Can we have a do-over on his election? Please!

Remember when Obama promised us the most “open” administration? The most “transparent” administration?

Remember when he promised to“create or save” hundreds of thousands of jobs and then he hired thousands of Census takers!

Remember when he promised to to beef up border security!
And how about those lezbo commies he put on the Supreme Court!
Shall I go on?
Barack Obama take part at a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow, Russia, but couldn't find the time to visit Arlington on Memorial Day!

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a flower on the memorial, Obama nonchalantly tossed his flower onto the pile without leaning over.
YES, We noticed!
When your pastor of 20 years, “God-damned America ” and said that 9/11 was “America’s chickens coming home to roost” — and you denied having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor Wright because it was politically expedient to do so, but we know that you continue to have secret meetings with him.
YES, We noticed.
All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the majority of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or affection for this country and her traditions.
YES, We noticed

We can only hope that someone destroys their building as they have done ours.

Randal Graves: Yes, I noticed too.

Steve Harkonnen: I don't want anymore destruction. What I want is that the mosque not be built at Ground Zero.

Once again, the liberal press has done a disservice to the American public by not educating them on the real story behind the building of this specific mosque in this specific space.

Like many people who don't live in NYC, I regard whatever happens there as beyond the realm of belief.

However, i have never read anything that would explain the 9-0 vote on what the rest of us would consider a total no brainer.

Why?

Jan: I lived in Manhattan for 8 years a long time ago but, even back then, it was a bastion of progressive liberal philosophy. It was almost as though they had to outdo themselves over who would be THE most liberal. I see this as the root of the problem.

No 'moderate' is right...and, GUESS WHAT!..one of the reasons they're saying they're building this mosque, one I heard this morning, is to 'encourage moderate islam'...
Um...the PROBLEM is it's in their koran that lying if it'll promote Allah is absolutely A GOOD THING!
My GOSH, 9/11 happened and we have muslims breathing down America's throats!..why?
"What do you have to Do around here to get respect, kill 3000 people?" I think I'm right.
so sad. And so scary.

and WHO'S PAYING FOR THIS...and how much money are they paying off NYC to get this built by 9/11/11, which is (this was my business) IMPOSSIBLE?

cube said...

Z: Good point. I always think to 'follow the money' because that gives the clearest path to whatever incident you're examining.

It is a sad state of affairs when New Yorkers vote 9-0 to allow this monstrosity to be built on Ground Zero. I can't believe all of them are s*it-for-brains liberals. Some of them must have been bought off with some large bucks and I'd love to know where that money came from.

I like the throwing bacon idea, heh heh.

If they're going to insist that this infernal thing go up, I say that the people of New York should sabotage contruction.

If that doesn't work, well, we can always take flying lessons.

I'm applying for my pilot's license as we speak.

This one truly upset us! There was some woman on the tube saying that it was a way to heal things. I took great umbridge to that idea. If they want to be sensitive to the memories of the victims, they would quietly relocate to an appropriate location.

The zoning approval for this mosque is an abomination and such dhimmitude!

I tell you, I do get discouraged.

Addendum...

Villagers with pitchforks comes to mind.

I can't believe I'm actually saying such a thing, but such is the point our country is coming to.

I would do that but bacon is so delicious.

I don't think I could bring myself to throw it away....

Chuck: It's not the same country I remember. We're losing that one inch at a time.

Karen Howes and Patrick Carroll:
Flying lessons? Yikes! I think I'll stick to throwing bacon :-)

Ananda Girl: Absolutely. If they wanted to be sensitive to the families of the victims, they would go elsewhere. The choice of that site is a purposeful, willful, and intentional act designed to poke a stick in the proverbial eye of the west.

Always On Watch: It does get discouraging, doesn't it? Especially when useful American idiots actually help them play our own system.

Tiburon: lol! I hear ya. Bacon is sooo yummy, but this is a good cause.
