Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

...I don't have it in me to post about cats today. Our beloved German Shepherd, Dax, is failing. We don't know how much time she has left, but we are making her as comfortable as we know how.

Hoping your Friday is happier than mine.

Cube,

The best dog of the best breed. She is making enjoying the love she's always known it's just a little more urgent and a lot less casual.

How we take life for granted!

Love,
QQ

What a beautiful dog.

I know she has given you some great lifetime memories. That's what you need to think about at this sad time.

I'm having trouble getting comments accepted.

I'm very sorry to hear about Dax. I'm glad, though, that she has a family that loves her. Best wishes.

Cube,
I'm so sorry about Dax. How old is she?

We have our dear animal friends with us not nearly long enough!

I want to thank you all for your kind words. Dax is on pain meds and is getting around, albeit slowly and for short distances.

Her big, noble heart still beats and we are grateful for any time we have left with her.

aow: You are so right. Their lives are too brief.

Dax is almost 8 years old. We feel cheated that we won't have her for much longer.

Cube, I'm so sorry. I feel your heartbreak.

Brief lives indeed, but lives lived with such enthusiasm, such fullness of love and joy and devotion! Perhaps they know something we don't.

Please give her a kiss from Truman and me. I'm praying for your family.

Oh no! I'm so sorry... I too had a beloved German Shepherd who died.. 15 years ago now... I sure loved that dog. He was as perfect a canine as they come.

♥ so sorry ♥

Thanks, everyone. Your kind words are appreciated.

We are trying to remember the good times, but it is heartbreaking to see the once strong, vigorous animal reduced to slow, stiff steps and even stumbling while
she walks.

hey cube, so sorry!! We put down our beloved Giant Schnauzer on this same day, Friday. Still recovering. Enormously sad for us. I totally understand your sadness. If you can, if it comes to the end, I hope you can do as we did and have the vet come to your home where it's peaceful and calm for your Shepherd. Good luck!

yep. I'll post a comment on today's post, but i just had to tell you the collar with tag looks like my kitchen atrium window where I have my dog's bowl with a photo and collar with tag in kind of a memorial setting.

Also, I thought of you last week. I flew to Florida and went to Kennedy to get a Causeway view of STS122 launch last week! IT was awesome!!!

We have a LOT in common!!!
