Erupting Comet

I've been meaning to post about Comet 17P/Holmes, but it's still not too late to see the 2.5 magnitude fuzzball in the constellation Perseus.

Sky Map To Locate Comet Holmes

Comet Holmes began erupting on October 23, brightening by a factor of 500,000 to make it a comet visible with the naked eye. Cloudy skies prevented us from seeing it until October 31, and it's an even more spectacular sight with binoculars.

Look for the patch of sky that looks gauzy.

I've tried to see it but can't. We still have too many clouds! No rain... just clouds.

Same thing happened to us. Finally it cleared up enough & we've been looking at it every night.
