Racism Card

It's been a bad week for Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga.. First, possible assault charges for tangling with a U.S. Capital police officer. Go here to read how she is claiming racism and racial profiling as an excuse.

And now she admits that she broke government rules by spending money to fly a celebrity to Atlanta.

Go here to read how Channel 2 Action News has uncovered documents showing McKinney spent about $1,000 of taxpayer's money to fly singer Isaac Hayes to Georgia to help dedicate a new office in Atlanta.

The money came from a fund members of Congress are supposed to use for office supplies.

New office. Office supplies. That's not such a reach. The real reach will be how she blames racism and racial profiling for this too.

The only thing "racist" about this incident is that she is playing the race card. Even if she is covered by a perk about not being detained while on the hill, she still needs to identify herself before claiming that perk.

That's not racist, that's ignorance. And pride, thinking that everyone should know who she is.

Sheesh.

Could a black woman be accused of being racist when she attacks a white police officer who is only doing his job? Would there have been a kerfuffle had a black officer asked her to stop?

I think black "leaders" are the biggest racists of all.

I'm really getting tired of RACE being an issue in just about every, single incident in America. She hit a police officer. Unless that officer attacked her, she has no excuse for this behavior.
Some people are just cocked and ready to fire with this racism stuff. She seems to be one of them.
I don't go around accusing every man that comes within five feet of me of sexual harassment. That would be the equivalent of what I see happening today with the race card. It is out of control!

I've heard it said that he "should have recognized her" even without a pin identifying her as a member of Congress. But realize that there are 535 senators and representatives, and it can't be easy to know all of them by sight--even ones with scary hair.

As a taxpayer, I'd rather have a law enforcement officer at a major government building take extra precaution than let unidentifed people go by on the chance he might offend someone.

And race has nothing to do with that.

Can I just sigh. Is that enough of a comment to express how this makes me feel? Maybe I should roll my eyes, too...

Err, not such a reach: Isaac Hayes is a black American too, yes?

Now, if she'd only just bought a few reams of A4 high grade white paper.

McKinney is an idiot, but her new Buckwheat hairdo is hardly the reason. Cries of racism are out of control, especially with people who don't take personal responsibility for their actions.

Remember years ago when 2 Capitol police were killed by gunmen? Their jobs are difficult enough without arrogant bureaucrats causing mayhem.

dak: yes. Wasn't it the Deputy of the Homeland Security Dept? This is stupid on soooo many levels. Shame on him.
